Olivia Brion

This wine is an homage to Olivia Brion, suffragette and descendent of a great French wine family. In 1905 Olivia, wearing long pants and short tresses, stunned the sporting world – and won a huge wager – by outrunning a locomotive from Canterbury to Maidstone.

Heron Lake Vineyard is located in the south end of Wild Horse Valley, 1,200 feet higher than the Napa Valley floor and five miles east of Napa town. Wild horses frolicked in the cool climate of Wild Horse Valley in the 19th century, but since then the area has been the home of a gentler breed: grape growers. Grapes were first grown there by Joseph Volpe and Constantino Malandrino, who
planted in the 1880's.

Today, the 3,300-acre valley has just about 40 acres of vines in two vineyard operations. Wild Horse Valley is a distinct viticultural appellation: while Napa Valley has hot summer afternoons, Wild Horse's proximity to the San Pablo and Suisun bays exposes it to cool westerly winds. That weather, along with the rocky volcanic soil, results in small yields and fruit of great color,
intensity and minerality.

Estate Chardonnay

The ’14 grapes from this organically farmed vineyard were 100% barrel fermented, with native yeasts allowed to complete the fermentation. This lovely Chardonnay has both purity and complexity. It has fruit notes of apricot, white peaches, and honeydew melon, as well as layered flavors of creme brûlée and baked apple. The structure is elegant and focused. The mouthfeel is fresh and lively without being weighty. As in every vintage, the minerality from our very rocky hillside is present and accounted for.

Estate Pinot Noir

Beautifully supple and seductive, focused and expressive and generous at the same time. Lovely density to the dark plum, wild cherry, rosewater, and dried ginger notes so typical of this vineyard. The mid palate expands and opens as it gains momentum toward a very long finish.

Taquine Proprietary White

40% Chardonnay, 38% Viognierr, 13% Verrmentino and 8% Muscat.

Vin Gris of Syrah

100% Syrah from Schrader Ranch Vineyard in Mendocino. Fresh summer strawberry greets the nose, descending into a candied orange blossom note with vibrant hues of white peach, rosewater, dried coconut, and tangerine reduction. The palate is true to the nose with a welcome round and voluptuous mouthfeel, finishing on bright acidity and clean minerality.
